Thursday Schedule Detail

Session Name: Evacuation Planning~~Developments and Trends in Approaches to Hurricane Evacuation Planning
Session Description:

DHS has been funding some of the national labs to modernize the products and methods used in FEMA/USACE hurricane evacuation studies. There will be training sessions at the conference for some of the modernized products, but this will be for a broader audience of people who want to know about the modernization status but don’t require training at this time. Long and Hagerty have been working with the FEMA National Integration Center to develop an all hazard plan for Baltimore, through the Urban Area Security Initiative. It involves multi-jurisdictional communications and in this case integration of existing Hurricane Evacuation Study products. The concept is expected to be duplicated in other UASI cities. Penny will address how the HES modernization efforts will affect the HES program: where studies are done, who will do them, what products will be produced, etc.

Day of Week: Thursday
