Session Name: Evacuation Planning~~Changes in Evacuation Planning Policies and Procedures since Katrina
Session Description:

A number of changes to evacuation plans and policies have occurred as a result of experiences in Katrina, both in New Orleans and nationally. Miller will be asked to describe changes made in New Orleans, including experiences in the Gustav evacuation. Renne will talk about how carless populations are being accommodated nationwide. Long will discuss challenges faced when relocating vulnerable populations significant distances from home, including problems created for host areas. Wolshon will address changes in traffic management plans such as reverse laning, both in Louisiana and nationwide.
