Session Name: Meteorology/Hydrology~~Operational Forecast Cuccesses and Challenges during the 2017 Hurricane Season
Session Description:

The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season provided several track and intensity forecast challenges, including the rapid intensification of hurricanes Irma, Maria, and Jose, the challenges of communicating potential impacts in Florida when the track forecast remained uncertain, and challenges of dealing with timing uncertainty during Hurricane Nate. This workshop will discuss the various forecast successes and challenges and provide a look at the current status of the Hurricane Forecast Improvement Project and plans for this project over the next 10 years.
