Tuesday Schedule Detail

Session Name: Accessibility & Funtional Needs~~Hidden and Forgotten Populations During Disasters: Considering Homeless Populations
Session Description:

Individuals and families who are homeless or precariously housed prior to a disaster are routinely left out of the recovery process. They may end up in disaster shelters, but because they were homeless prior to the disaster, do not qualify for Federal disaster assistance and many times are sent back to the streets or homeless shelters. About 80% of the homeless population has a disability. There is a strong need for emergency management, the disability community and the homeless programs and providers to come together to work on solutions for these populations.

Day of Week: Tuesday
Time Start: 8:30AM
