Tuesday Schedule Detail

Session Name: Fire-Rescue Law Enforcement~~Hurricane Harvey: Houston’s Experiential Learning in Response and Recovery
Session Description:

Houston, America’s fourth largest city, is known by many Houstonians as “The Bayou City.” The city is prone to flooding by both natural and man-made design; and while we can’t control the weather, we can control our response to these disasters and other crises. Hurricane Harvey is not the first storm or flooding event to affect the city, but is the most devastating. What has Houston learned from this event and what are the inherent challenges in implementing a change in response and recovery? The Houston Fire Department will share these points and express how they will utilize organizational development principles, partnerships, and technology to overcome the challenges and meet the demands of the city before, during, and after the crisis.

Day of Week: Tuesday
